Gratitude-Returning Hall:

      Gratitude-Returning Hall worships the Dizang Bodhisattva Mulian. The full name of Mulian is Maudgalyayana, who is one of the ten major disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha,and the most accomplished and the most filial disciple among them. It is said that Maudgalyayana's mother was thrown into hell due to her disrespect to Buddhism and become a hungry ghost. In order to rescue his mother and return the gratitude of the love and care he had received from her in childhood, Maudgalyayana came to Buddha for help. Followed the Buddha's advice, he held an Ullambana. After lots of efforts and successfully rescued his mother from hell. Later, the Buddha entrusted Maudgalyayana with the task of educating the sentient beings and rescuing all the evil ghost in hell. The two assistants standing by Dizang Bodhisattva are Min Gong and Min Zhi.
