Während den Olympischen Spielen 1972 und später nur noch bei Fußballspielen fuhr die Münchner S-Bahn den nord-westlich vom Olympiastadion gelegenen Durchgangsbahnhof an. Fahrkarten kann man heute im ehemaligen Olympiabahnhof nicht mehr kaufen: das Areal wurde am 8.7.1988 stillgelegt.
