小路的右边有一栋占地约40平方米的草房。这间草房原是饶国模“大有农场”员工栖身的场所。1939年5月3、4日，日本飞机肆虐重庆，城区市内一片火海，南方局和办事处城内驻地均被炸毁。迫不得已，南方局负责人董必武偕夫人何莲芝等人来红岩躲避空袭，饶国模就安排董必武一家在此草房就住，直至办事处大楼落成之日。后来，南方局又借用此草房举办过几期党员训练班，周恩来、董必武、博古、凯丰等南方局负责人都曾在这间草房给参加培训班的同志上过课，作过形势报告。当年，草房前的这块小平地，还是南方局和办事处同志们进行体育活动的“篮球场”哩。
这栋草房是根据原样于1993年重建的。
草房后面的两层红砖小楼就是饶国模故居。
