Guilin scenery is acclaimed as the "Best Under Heaven" and the most beautiful scenes are found along the Li-River. Traveling downriver along Li River, in the xingping of yangshuo,about 0.5 km (0.3 mile) from Mural Hill you will see Yellow Cloth Shoal. A large cream-colored flagstone lies under the water, looking like a piece of new yellow cloth extended on the riverbed. This is how Yellow Cloth Shoal got its name. On both sides of the shoal stand seven elegant peaks, which are of different height and size. They were named 'Seven Fairy Maidens Descending to the World'. As an ideal place to enjoy the reflection of peaks in the water, the Yellow Cloth Shoal boasts a charming picture of landscapes with lush bamboos and green peaks under cerulean sky.
