The "House For An Art Lover" was designed by the world renowned Charles Rennie MacKintosh .

The house design came about after being submitted for a German-based competition which involved the designing of a "Grand Residence For An Art Lover".

Having been admired by architects for many years , it was finally built by civil engineer Graham Roxburgh from 1987 until final completion in 1994 .
