El 26 de Abril de 1908, día de Pascua de Resurrección, la Iglesia de Santiago cumple su anhelo, inaugurándose el Santuario de la Inmaculada Concepción.

Hasta este Santuario también peregrinó el Papa Juan Pablo II en el primer día de su visita a Chile en 1987. Bendiciendo a la Ciudad y al País desde allí.
