Back in 1965, the tradition began to illuminate Temple Square from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve. What started with 40'000 lights has since turned into a stunning event attracting well over a million visitors each year. Estimates are between 1 and 1.5 million lights which are installed by a 100 people between August and Thanksgiving. As one of the officials said, the largest tree is decorated with 75'000 lights
