大山村属自然村，村委会驻中和圩村。大山村位于大坪塘乡以南。
乡镇简介：
大坪塘乡位于新田县东南，距离县城13公里。全乡有耕地15511亩，其中水田11828亩。辖大坪塘、大冲、下村、秀岭水、麻塘窝、小塘、白杜、长富、云里、社湾、黄沙溪、坪陆坊、留家田、土桥坪、中和圩、大凤头、草坪、火柴岭、枇杷窝、大窝岭20个行政村，173个作业组。粮食作物以水稻为主，柑桔种植普遍。乡办企业有万华林场。
乡沿用驻地自然地名。大坪塘因建村前是大草坪，村口有塘而得名。乡境解放初属第五区。1956年撤区并乡后设大坪塘乡。1958年归新圩公社辖。1961年从新圩公社分出建大坪塘公社。1984年撤社为大坪塘乡。
乡境属丘陵区，乡经济以农业为主，主产稻谷、烤烟。境内公路通乡达村，交通条件较好。
乡内设中学1所，小学11所，医疗机构1个。革命先烈蒋先云同志生于大坪塘村，后在北伐战争中光荣牺牲，终年24岁。
