Yulu Historic Trail(Dayukeng)
Taiwan

This old trail was used by fish sellers in Jinshan to transport fish on foot to Beitou and Shilin for higher profits during World War II. They usually set off from Huanggang Harbor, carrying their fish load on a shoulder-pole, passed Chengtian Temple and the cemetery, along the old street, and followed the trail up to Yangmingshan, all the way to Beitou and Shilin to sell the fish. They would then make the return journey via Dayoukeng to carry sulfur on the way back for more profits. Day after day, and year after year, the fish sellers trod the perilous “fish route,” leaving behind many stories about the hardships of life at that time.

Today, this trail has been designated one of the 12 trails of Yangmingshan National Park. The four-kilometer-long trail, lined with greenery, meadows, and forests, is now a famous hiking path.
