Zane Grey, the reknown Western author lived here and wrote many of his books while on the island. His "pueblo" is now a hotel. Zane Grey was also an avid sports fisher. The Tuna Club, the world's first sports fishing club, can be seen below, jutting out over the water of Avalon harbor.
