Mittelpunkt des Fußballs in und um München ist die Allianz Arena im Norden der Stadt, die etwas weiter von der Innenstadt entfernt ist als das Olympiastadion. Im Jahr 2005, nach nicht einmal drei Jahren Bauzeit, entstand eine moderne, und zugleich wohl die architektonisch außergewöhnlichste Fußball-Arena des Kontinents.
