Schloss Porcia

Schloss Porcia, also known as Porcia Castle, is one of the most significant Renaissance buildings in Austrian state of Carinthia. Construction began in 1533 for Emperor Ferdinand I after Italian architecture as a Palazzo. The Porcia family sold the castle in 1918 and later  became a property of the town of Spittal. The castle  serves as a venue for the annual Komödienspiele Porcia festival and also houses a museum for local history. The castle is also the site of several concerts and chorus.
