Church Florus and Laurus in 1613 built Megrega
Russia
A small wooden church cubic Florus and Laurus with vosmiskatnym podschiptsovym coating and refectory Megrega village that is 12 km from Olonets – one of the oldest preserved wooden churches of Karelia. Built a church in the woods outside the village Megrega in 1613 in memory of the battle against the Lithuanians. Church survives to this day and is one of the oldest wooden buildings in the territory of Karelia. Strict interior of the church has remained almost unchanged. The eastern wall of the church before the altar remained scarce vintage three-tier iconostasis tyablovy. Megregskaya church is the rarest in the country Novgorod monument of wooden architecture type. In it, chetyrehfrontonnoy with tent top, well- visible features that are typical of the famous stone church in Novgorod Theodore Stratilatus – octagon with a low roof of the tent is located above the refectory, entrance porch constructed on the north side.
