Dam "Rincon del Bonete", is a hydroelectric plant designed by an Uruguayan engineer and a German engineer in 1933. It began to function on December 21, 1945 and belonging to the state energy company Uruguay, UTE. Is located between the states of Durazno and Tacuarembó, 269 Km. road from the city of Montevideo. The dam has four turbines with a maximum power of 38.8 MW each.
