The building was designed by the Italian architects Mario Botta and Giulio Andreolli. The forms of the building are based on classical models. The inner walls are made with the yellow stone of Vicenza, traditionally used by Andrea Palladio. The radial dome, with a missing part, is made of steel and plexiglass.
