The Many Tarns on the Way to Glacier Grey
South America

In the distance, Galcier Grey is splited into 3 separate tongues by 2 nunataks before dipping into the massive Lago Grey. Even from afar, the thundering roar as the glacier crumbles into lake could still be heard.

The backside of Cerro Paine Grande on the right is rather jagged. The view is often tantalizing as the coulds swirl and shift.

There are many tarns on this side of the ridge and on this count there are at least 8 in view here. The two opposing weather fronts are playing a tug-of-war here and unfortunately it's the massive cloud that prevails at the end.

More About South America

South America makes up the southern half of the Americas and a large part of Latin America. It's home to the world's longest mountain range, biggest waterfall and largest river -- even these mammoths pale in comparison to the stunning variety of life forms thriving in the rainforest. Following liberation from Portugal and Spain, South America took off into its own development, capitalizing on the rich deposits of oil, gold, copper, silver and tango musicians.
