The Wendelstein viewpoint can be reached easily by ascending some steps, after using the rack railway from Brannenburg or the aerial tramway from Osterhofen. The alernative way is hiking some 2.5 hours from Bayrischzell or from Osterhofen. Osterhofen and Bayrischzell can be reached easily via the Bayerische Oberlandbahn from Munich main station.
