Kehlburg Dachstuhl
South Tyrol (Bolzano-Bozen)

On April, 30th 1944, for unknown reason, a fire broke out and Kehlburg castle was heavily damaged. In order to be able to celebrate again high mass in the castle's small chapel of Saint Erasmus (Erasmuskapelle), Anton Hopfgartner, pastor of Gais, took care that soon after a new roof was constructed. Amongst other things, Saint Erasmus, also known as Saint Elmo, is adored as helper in need in the case of stomach ache and gastric trouble.
