Established in 1971, Nanzih Export Processing Zone (Nanzih EPZ) of 97.81 hectare is the base of electronic industries, including the famous Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc. (ASE Inc.).
Now Nanzih EPZ aims for high-EVA (economic value added) customization like semiconductor packaging and testing industries. Big packaging and testing factories like ASE Inc., Philips Electronics Building Elements Ind., Orient Semiconductor Electronics, Ltd. (OSE), together with the 27 peripheral industries reach 77% of the total business volume. They integrate vertical product line, decrease transportation, production management, and inventory costs, and thus promote cluster competitiveness.
