Johannisburg Palace in Aschaffenburg served as the second residence of the archbishops and electors of Mainz until 1803. The complex was built in the period 1605-1614 by the architect Georg Ridinger in the Renaissance style. The complex consists of four large wings each with three storeys. There is a tower on each corner. The panorama was built on the north site.
