巴黎有聞名的左岸，八里卻有更美麗的左岸。位於淡水河左岸的八里，在台北縣政府的「城鄉風貌改造計畫」中，將八里勾勒成一個人文藝術與自然景觀交織的浪漫聖地，規劃有完善的自行車道。

沿岸的河濱公園連結非常長，淡水河邊風景秀麗的龍米河濱公園，位於龍米路5公里處，規劃了人車分離的步道，讓騎單車及悠閒散步的人群擁有各自的活動空間。還有數個美麗的廣場，可觀潮汐、看夕陽。夜間佇足觀賞對岸淡水夜景，燈火通明，水波倒影，河面清風徐徐，猶如置身「夜香港」。
