Here we are on a winters morning in the Bear Pit of Sheffields Botanical Gardens opened in 1836. The gardens have undergone a major restoration programme in the last few years and are now back to their former grandeur. A new addition is a lifesize statue of a bear in the pit, which I don't think was present before the restoration.
