Burgoberbach in the district of Ansbach is located on a high plateau between the Franconian Rezat in the north and the Altmühl in the south. The parish village of Sommersdorf - first mentioned in 1208 - is part of the municipality. Just a few steps from the town center is an enchanting little moated castle. Sommersdorf Castle goes back to Ludwig von Eyb III. The construction dates back to the late 14th century.
