Dog Town grave
California

Ruins of the ghost town of Dog Town, California, founded by Carl Norst in 1857 for gold mining.  The area is said to have produced the largest gold nuggest on the eastern Sierra slope.  The town is named by a woman who began breeding dogs & sold the puppies to lonely miners.  The site lies in close proximity to Highway 395 & contains the foundational remants of stone huts plus this grave in cast iron.  While covered in snow, I believe this grave marks that of Peter Johann Anderson from Sweden who died in July 1906 at the age of 79.
