Erlenbach is the largest city in the Lower Franconian district of Miltenberg. Mechenhard is a district of Erlenbach. From here, Matthew and Katharina Elbert emigrated to America. In greeting they sent a carved statue of Our Lady to Mechenhard. Because of this gift, the community built a small chapel in the Gothic Revival style.
