The Espada Aqueduct
USA
This aqueduct carries water from the San Antonio River to irrigated fields, villages, and Missions San Juan and Espada. It was finished in 1745 and continues to serve its original purposes. This raised masonry section is unusual, it leads to the aqueduct crossing of Piedras Creek.
