Humlegården
Sweden

Humlegården is the largest park in downtown Stockholm. The statue is of Carl von Linné, one of Sweden's most prominent scientists. He was the author of "Species Plantarum" that is the foundation of plant nomenclature as it exists today. The name Humlegården translates to "Hop garden" in English and suggests that hops were a major crop in this former royal fruit garden. This park is a popular pick-nic place and on a sunny day you may see many people on blankets trying to get a tan.
