Around the Augustusplatz you can find the new Gewandhaus and the Mendelbrunnen. The Gewandhaus is a concert house. The opera house is placed behind the well on the other side of the Augustusplatz. The new Paulinerkirche with its glass building facade, the Krochhochhaus, the first tower in Leipzig, a hotel and several other buldings are also arranged around that important place.
