Sugar Mill ruins
Caribbean

This is the ruins of one of the 400 or so windmills that operated in Barbados since the 1600s. These were used to grind the sugar cane. Most of them were destroyed, but many are still visible around the island. The one remaining mill that still works to this day is the Morgan Lewis mill located in the parish of St. Andrew.
