This dome was built in 1926. We can see a huge equatorial refracting telescope made by Carl Zeiss in the dome. The telescope has a 65 cm object lens with a focal length of ca. 10m. The telescope can be used still now, but, unfortunately, the wooden dome cannot be opened since 1998. The wooden dome was built by ship-manufacturers, because, at that time, no architecture could built such dome. There are many similar but smaller domes in the observatory. Heiwa4126 san took a panorama of the inside of one of the dome.

Ceci est un aperçu de Tama

Tama area is the name of the western part of Tokyo Metropolis.  It consists of 26 cities, 3 towns and a village.  A lot of people (about 4 milion) live in a eastern half part of the area.  However, there are many mountains in the western part of Tama area, and there are very little flat land.  Many hiking spots are in the western area, so you can enjoy walking on the trail, camping, and so on.  If you see the beautiful mountain scene, you may not believe this is also in Tokyo.
