Palolem Beach is a popular destination in South Goa. One of the most interesting things to do is to experience the environment in low tide and high tide. In mid-day, you are able to walk to nearby Monkey Island (also called Kankon Island). This island has some dense brush and great views of the beach. I didn't see any monkeys, but there were plenty of biting red ants. At the end of the day, it's a 10 minute swim back to the main beach. The sun sets behind this island.
