Quarryman's cottages in the Dinorwic slate quarry
Wales

Those rows of houses were build so the quarryman could work longer hours because they would not need to get there from their homes and up the quarry. So during the week they stayed in those houses and only went back for the weekends. Well hey, the good old times - where everything was better; well, nearly everything.
