The main motif of Peterhof - the hundreds of fountains and waterfalls that make up a unique set. Stand out among them took the Grande Cascade built according to the project of Peter the Great. It is one of the world's greatest buildings representing a vast cave with waterfalls stairs a both sides. Moscow has been the capital of Russia for almost its entire history. The exception is during the period of the Russian Empire, which lasted from 1721 until the Russian Revolution 1917.
