In the Odenwald, about two kilometers up the valley from Amorbach towards Walldürn, the economic and religious life of Schneeberg was shaped for a long time by the Benedictine abbey. The beginning of the pilgrimage should be around the year 1450. A characteristic of the church building located in the middle of the village is that it consists of three structures of different ages, which nevertheless fit together harmoniously.
