The Ochsenfurt gate tower is one of three gates of the city wall of Sommerhausen. The tower is located at the southern end of the main road and was a bottleneck for road traffic until the bypass was completed. The basement floors date from the 15th to the 16th century, the top floor from the 17th to the 18th century. A gatekeeper's house is adjacent to the south, and the small gate next to it was used for the passage of individuals after the gate tower was closed.
