The Protestant parish church of St. Bartholomew in Sommerhausen has been extensively restored in recent years. Interestingly, the side tower from the 13th century is not owned by the church, but by the community. The pulpit is striking inside the church. A renaissance structure with rich carvings from 1620. A memorial plaque commemorates the former pastor Carl Heinrich Caspari, who made Sommerhausen famous with his book "The Schoolmaster and His Son".
