Superyachts in New Caledonia - MV Tango
Nouvelle Calédonie

Superyachts in New Caledonia, MY Tango

More and more superyachts have been migrating to the cruising grounds of New Caledonia over the past few years. Some are as big as a small cruise ship. This one, the 37 metre long MY Tango anchored in Baie du Prony on the southeastern tip of the South Pacific Island of New Caledonia for a couple of nights on a leisurely cruise from the Isle of Pines to Noumea.

As I took her image, Tango danced at anchor, turning this way and that, showing off her luxurious curves and reflecting the summer sunset with her high tech polish.

Tango is privately owned and has a crew of 4 to look after her and the owner and guests. I enjoyed talking to the crew and discovered that Haley, the lovely stewardess of the superyacht attended the prestigious Superyacht Crew Academy in Sydney where she trained to be a hostess aboard these mega yachts.

It's not an easy job, looking after a superyacht and her ultra-rich owners, but on the other hand the job certainly has it's perks; rent-free living in luxury, great food, high pay, and of course travel to some of the most romantic and beautiful places on the planet. If I wasn't an owner of a super yacht (well, it's only a very small 14 metre one) I'd be tempted to head off to the training academy myself.
