The Plaza Nueva Of Bilbao
Northern Spain

The Plaza Nueva (New Square) of Bilbao, in the Neoclassical style, was built in 1800 over a period of 65 years; It is surrounded by arcaded buildings and accessed by arches known as Cuevas (caves). A meeting place for locals and tourists alike, under its arcades many traditional taverns and restaurants are some of the oldest and most typical of the city, and some gift shops and souvenirs.
