Baishuitai Terrace is located at Sanba Township which is 101 kilometers from Zhongdian county seat. The area measuring 3 square kilometers features wonderful karst geomorphology, and is covered by a layer of white deposits of calcium carbonate crystallized in the spring water. The locality was one of the origins of the Dongba culture of the ethnic Naxi minority, and ancient Naxi folklore can be observed in Baidi village near the Baishuitai scenic resort.
