The oldest church in Baden, Franconia stands in “Eichel” near “Wertheim”. The Romanesque tower was built between the 9th and 10 Century. Also the nave was originally Romanesque. According to an old lore the fortified church Eichel is the pilgrimage "Maria to the oak."
