Wolframs-Eschenbach extends southwest of Nuremberg on the gently undulating ridge between Rezat and upper Altmühl. The small town is one of the series of Franconian towns that are still essentially shaped by the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The cathedral with Romanesque and early Gothic elements is one of the earliest hall churches in Germany. In 2007 Wolframs-Eschenbach celebrated the city's 675th anniversary.
