Native American (Indians of 1916) moving again
USA

This antique photograph appears to be of a Native American tribe of "Indians", several with suitcases, evidently being moved (again?), and marked as originally photographed in June of 1916 (over 100 years ago).

In this experimental test (faux 360° fully-spherical panorama), I have manipulated the damaged original (with Photoshop, PTGui and Pano2VR) to appear as if they were circled tightly around the photographer.

This was posted under the designation heading offered, "Out of this World", due to the facts that this was not a photo of my taking (and I couldn't make out the photographer's name under one of the suitcases) and that this place likely no longer looks familiar in our timeframe (someone years ago suggested they thought they were a tribe in the middle of some California hills, but I truly do not know). I trust any copyright has been dropped and this is therefore in the public domain, or at least in "fair use", and it has been over 80% altered in various ways.  ;)

The extended sky and foreground were quickly faked in just for this first experiment. The reason I am TESTING the idea, is that I would like to ask the local museum if I might digitally scan local area panoramas to allow Google Cardboard (and other viewers) to get "inside" the Lake Chelan area as if about 100 years ago.

After posting this photo-sphere as an example of what I wish to eventually create, the Lake Chelan Historical Society may have a better understanding of what I would like to build. Then next year, I may be allowed to use a few antique horizontal panoramas from the digitally-scanned collections at the Lake Chelan Museum (and elsewhere) to build a wider circle with old Chelan area hills (including the Chelan Butte) and hopefully a few Native Americans from the region to be pasted into the foreground somewhere with their horses,
perhaps with local-style tipis behind, etcetera .. and blend them all together in Photoshop.

Maybe there were no buffalo (American Bison) in this part of the country (although I have a copy of an old pano with a small herd), but that would be fun to do with a plains tribe later too.

More About USA

The United States is one of the most diverse countries on earth, jam packed full of amazing sights from St. Patrick's cathedral in New York to Mount Hollywood California. The Northeast region is where it all started. Thirteen British colonies fought the American Revolution from here and won their independence in the first successful colonial rebellion in history. Take a look at these rolling hills carpeted with foliage along the Hudson river here, north of New York City. The American south is known for its polite people and slow pace of life. Probably they move slowly because it's so hot. Southerners tend not to trust people from "up north" because they talk too fast. Here's a cemetery in Georgia where you can find graves of soldiers from the Civil War.The West Coast is sort of like another country that exists to make the east coast jealous. California is full of nothing but grizzly old miners digging for gold, a few gangster rappers, and then actors. That is to say, the West Coast functions as the imagination of the US, like a weird little brother who teases everybody then gets famous for making freaky art.The central part of the country is flat farmland all the way over to the Rocky Mountains. Up in the northwest corner you can find creative people in places like Portland and Seattle, along with awesome snowboarding and good beer. Text by Steve Smith.
