Emsland is the name of a region on the river Ems in the western Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia in the north and east of the Netherlands. It is divided into the so-called Emsland Hanover and Westphalia.
Since then, a district in Lower Saxony, was founded with that name, are often referred to as a term landscape and community in one breath and confused.
