The ruins of the ancient city of Aspendos in Turkey include besides the Basilica, length of 105 m, well-preserved theater at 15000 sites, an aqueductto supply water, the stadium, whose length is 215 m, 3 necropolis, two bathsand agora. According to legend, the city was founded by prophet Mops after the Trojan War. In order to avoid attacks from the sea, the city was built 16 km from the coast. He was a member of Lycia, the Persians, the Athenian naval alliance. In 333 BC. er., moved from the Alexander of Macedon.

More About Middle East

Modern civilization began right here in the Tigris-Euphrates river valley.
