Built in 1921 by the citizens of Bendigo as a permanent memorial to those Bendigonians who served during world war 1 (The Great War).
It continues to honour those who have served their country and lost their lives in overseas military campaigns since 1914.
Entry to the museum is by gold coin donation.
The memorial hall is located in the heart of the Bendigo CBD, directly opposite the home of the very first Myer store in Australia.
