Black Mountain, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
Utah

Salt Lake City recedes to the southwest as you climb the ridge to Black Mountain.  To the west, Antelope and then Stansbury Islands are becoming visible above the mudflats and waters of the Great Salt Lake.  To the north, the still snow capped peak of Grandview Mountain rises above the upper end of City Creek Canyon.  Across the canyon to our west, the ridge is capped by the same orange-brown pebble and rock conglomerate as below our feet.
