Led by Kingsley Holgate, The Boundless Southern Africa Expedition, set off from the Tourism Indaba at ICC in Durban. A first of its kind journey to link and unite Nature, Culture and Community through nine Countries, seven Transfrontier Conservation Areas, more than thirty National Parks and Nature Reserves and most importantly the Communities living within or adjacent to these areas.
The theme for Boundless Southern Africa is “Nature, Culture and Community”. “Boundless Southern Africa”, the brand selected by nine Southern African countries to promote tourism and investment opportunities across seven Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs), is marketed in terms of ecosystems and not in terms of political or geographical boundaries.
A TFCA is defined as “the area or component of a large ecological region that straddles the boundaries of two or more countries, encompassing one or more protected areas as well as multiple resource use areas”.
