Calanda Desert Convent, interior. Teruel (Spain)
Located in a lonely and rugged landscape, this baroque building is listed as an Asset of the Cultural Heritage of Aragon. It was inhabited by the Order of the Discalced Carmelites until the confiscation in the 19th century. Unfortunately, today it is in a state of total neglect and ruin. If the exterior shows a deplorable image, penetrating inside shrinks the soul. It is miraculous that the central dome hasn't collapsed yet.
