il Castello di Brunico - Südtirol
South Tyrol (Bolzano-Bozen)

Il castello di Brunico fu fatto costruire nel 1251 dal Principe Vescovo di Bressanone Bruno von Kirchberg. Dato che la Contea della Val Pusteria fu donata nel 1091 dall'imperatore Enrico IV al Principe Vescovo di Bressanone, i Principi Vescovi di Bressanone andarono perdendo il loro potere temporale. Per preservare quindi quello che gli era rimasto, fu costruito il Castello di Brunico.

Bruneck was founded by the Prince-Bishop Bruno von Kirchberg of Bruneck, and was first mentioned on 23 February 1256. At that time the town consisted of two rows of houses forming a narrow lane.
