Castle Varrich, Kyle Of Tongue
Scotland

The remains of Castle Varrich are located on a rocky promontory overlooking the Kyle of Tongue in the Scottish Highlands. The origins of the two-storey ruined tower house are unknown but its strategic position, with clear views along the Kyle of Tongue, suggest it was used as a lookout, beacon, or a defensive structure.

The current tower house is thought to be a 16th-century reconstruction of an earlier tower that once belonged to the Clan Mackay of Sutherland.
